The Central Virginia Moms Group was created in order to provide a place where parents could find friendship and support while their children play together.
Events are planned at various times of the week in order to provide opportunties for participation from all of our members. Of course, we'll have plenty impromptu playdates and dinners, etc, to choose from as well.

A Message from the Organizer

Hello! I'm so glad you've taken an interest in our little group! I created this group for a couple reasons:
1. I love my children, and I want for them to be able to interact with other children around their age.
2. I was part of a pretty amazing Moms Group in Columbus, Georgia, and when I left there to come to Virginia, I found myself missing that support system! They were the ones who pulled me out of my "New to Motherhood" funk. Since having my children, I'd basically spent my time as a hermit in our apartment... goo-gooing and ga-gaing over our children. I lost my identity as "Sarah" and became "Mommy." While I used to be extremely outgoing and always wanting to make friends, I found myself more shy and nervous. Then, I joined this playgroup in Georgia, and all of that went away. I went from going through the monotony of waking up and trying to decide which Disney movie we were going to watch next, to waking up and wondering who was going to be at the Playgroup of the day. My children loved the group, and our relationship was flourishing because of it. Not only that, but I was learning so much from the other women in the group! So many helpful tips and ideas pertaining to EVERYTHING a Mom deals with...everything a woman deals with.
The point I'm trying to make in all of this rambling? This group will do amazing things for your life if you let it. Making the first step and writing that first post on the message board.. or coming to the first playdate... it takes a lot of courage. But, I promise you that it will be worth it.
