Dear Moms,
I hope you all have enjoyed Fit & fun Moms Meetup. This email is to inform you that I will be changing the direction of the group. As some of you may already know I am very passionate about politics and I have teamed up with Jan Stover (Founder and Director The Mothers Institute) and women from all over the country are working together in this grass roots movement to promote mothering which foster a child's sense of individual freedom and personal responsibility. So As of April 1st we will be known as The Southern California Mothers for Liberty Meetup Group. The Southern California Mothers for Liberty Meetup Group is designed for mothers of all ages and stages who are concerned about the future of their children and their nation. It is designed to give mothers of all political persuasions a place to come together and share ideas, goals, concerns, talents, resources and services in an effort to help themselves, the next generation ... and generations yet to come! I invite all of you to join us but if you feel this group is not for you, I completely understand. Hope to see you inside! Kind Regards, Sondra Shannon Southern California Mothers for Liberty |

Sondra,
Thanks for your efforts. My interest in the group is not fitness as a mom, although I do stay fit, it is politics. I am looking to link with like minded mothers who agree with the description you give for this group. I am an aware individual, and speak of my insights on personal rights and freedoms that are slipping away when it comes up in conversations, yet I have not taken much action. I have a 6 yr old, daughter, and 2 step children 15 and 22, who we have worked to encourage open minded and critical thinking skills. In fact it was on my sons my space that i found your link. I am in L.A. The southbay. Palos Verdes to be exact. I heard on a radio talkshow recently, the host saying dont write your congressman, it is a waste of time, if you want to make an impact, gather thousands to get your point across... Hmm. I actually attended the "peace marches" in LA and as a person who considered myself a republican raised in orange county etc, I was more about checking to see if this was a bandwagon I was interested in getting on. There were too many agendas, and not enough organization. Too bad. i do lean more towards libertarian thinking, and now consider myself an independant, non bush republican- libertarian with interest in listening to the democrats as well. Even when Martin Sheen spoke, he was unclear. There are so many liberties we are losing while we are all busy trying to keep up with the good life.. Will life be good for our little ones when they are grown? Let me know whats up. My time is fairly flexible. Lisa |
