Beginning this Fall, Smart Start: The Affordable Preschool Alternative will be offering additional days and longer hours of operation. Parents may choose the Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday for the two-day Learning Program or may have their child attend all four days. Friday will remain the optional Field-Trip Day, where we visit local venues in the morning such as the Mystic Aquarium, Providence Zoo, and playgrounds or try a class such as karate or dance. Parents who do not wish to have their child participate in Field-Trip Friday's are always invited to join us at the venue with their child.

The hours of operation will be extended from 8:15 to 5:30, although the Learning Program will remain from 9am-noon. Children who choose extended day will have supervised "Free Choosing Time" from 8:15-9am, Lunch is from 12:00-12:30. The afternoons will include an hour of Quiet Resting Time and supervised indoor and outdoor play.

The Play and Learn 90 minute themed activities will continue at 10 am once a week providing there are less than 6 children already here as Smart Start Preschool students. For example, if there are 4 children participating in Smart Start on Tuesday's, a Play and Learn activity will be offered and two additional children will be able to participate.
