Calling all fabric crafters! We are meeting at Cynthia Shaffer's house for a little knitting and crocheting for NICU babies at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto. Quilters are welcome, too. There will be some finger foods and bite-sized goodies and maybe a little wine. (Not too much, we still have to count stitches!) Please RSVP Cynthia at [masked] for directions and pattern choices.

If you want to look for your own knitting or crochet pattern, there are some good ones at Lion Brand Yarn www.lionbrand.com. Or you can check out Ravelry at www.ravelry.com.

IF YOU ARE NO-YARN, NO-SEW PERSON, Project Linus (blankets for kids in need in Monterey County) needs larger "no-sew" blankets for bigger kids and teenagers. For directions and picture, cut and paste this link: http://www.projectlin... Bring your fabric with you and we can work on it together.

Hey, Ladies...it's about that time. We may be small in numbers, but we're BIG in heart! Looking forward to it. Great job, Heather! Victoria, I hope you're able to make it. If not, we'll catch you the next go 'round. Stephanie, if you're able to make the blanket, pls feel free to drop it off with me. Email me and I'll send you directions! Cheers, Cynthia

    •  We finished two blankets! The three of us (actually, four as we had a baby in tow...so adorable) ate some yummy food and then sat in the living room together making the blankets. The evening reminded me of how "back in the day" the women/moms would get together and quilt or cook. In the midst of doing something practical the women got to talk and get to know each other. So it was for us...we had good conversations and laughed A LOT!!! I'm so glad we don't have to churn butter and raise chickens like our ancestors, but I'm so glad we still get to gather and support each other like our ancestors! Many thanks to Heather for coordinating and eventually hosting. I'll be at the next blanket making party, fer sure. Cheers, Cynthia
    •  Loved sitting around and chatting!
