Does anyone know why there arent many 5k /10k in the area ? For Monterey being a very runner friendly area Im surprised to not see road races that often. Ive been looking and can find some every weekend but they are 1-2 hours away. Total Bummer.

Hi Christina, I have just moved to the area so am unfamiliar with any races going on, however, my husband does them from time to time. I'll let you know when and if he hears of one. I am a newby at running myself, but hopefully with a bit of practice I'll be out there joining him. He says I just need to throw myself into it, go at my own pace and before long I'll be wondering why I hadn't done it long ago. Take care!

10K Walk/Run in Moro Bay

Miracle Miles for Kids
benefits high needs children on the Central Coast

Moro Bay is about 2 1/2 hours south of Monterey on Hwy 1. This is a good one to bring the whole family since it's a walk/run and there's a post-race party with games and music.
