About this Meetup › Guidelines 3-08

Packerland Parents Playgroup welcomes all parents and parents-to-be in the northeast Wisconsin area. To be a member, we ask a few things of you but the most important is to HAVE FUN! To help ensure our group's success, we ask all members follow these guidelines:

Solicitation: We are a parents group and we do not endorse solicitations of any kind. If your primary intention is to join our group to solicit for your home business, group or items for sale, please do not join. Anyone found soliciting our group members will be subject for removal. Please contact an organizer immediately if you feel like you have been solicited by another member of this group.

Open Houses: For the safety of our members, all prospective members must attend an open house event before joining PPP. After joining the group, members will have full access to our event calendar, message board, files and photos.

Attendance: We ask that parents participate in as many events as they like and can fit into their schedule, but everyone must minimally attend one event every two months.

Please RSVP yes only to events that you are sure you can attend. If a member RSVPs 'yes' and does not attend, it is called a 'no-show'. No-shows adversely affect our events and our relationships with business owners. Three no-shows in a three month period will result in removal from the group.

Code of Conduct: PPP has expectations for all our members - adults and children alike. We expect our members to act within the following code of conduct:
  • When attending a meetup please stay near your children and keep them in your sight to help prevent accidents and injuries.
  • If you see something and can prevent an injury by stepping in, please do so and notify the parent after the fact.
  • If your child is a victim of an aggressive child, please notify the parent (if you're comfortable doing so) and an organizer.

    Message Board Etiquette: Please be respectful of others while on the Message Board. Offensive content or language will not be tolerated. Please do not speak about other members negatively and do not use the board for spamming.
    We have a special "Work at Home" thread for members to advertise about their business. Please keep all advertising in that thread.
    Any post deemed inappropriate or offensive will be removed at the discretion of the organizer. Any member who repeatedly posts inappropriate or offensive material is subject to removal from the message board and playgroup.

    Aggressive Children: We have an aggressive child policy. We expect parents to be responsible for their child(ren) and intervene immediately if aggressive behavior is displayed. Three aggressive child notices will result in removal from the group.

    Illness: In order to keep the spread of illness to a minimum, we that you use your best judgment when you or your child have any illness. Please do not attend our events if your child has:
  • A runny nose with yellow or green discharge;
  • a rash (other than on diaper area);
  • fever of 101 degrees or above ;
  • vomiting or diarrhea within the past 48 hours;
  • a communicable disease such as chicken pox or head lice.

    Photos: Members of PPP take photos at many of our events. By joining this group, you agree to allow your image and your child(ren)'s image to be posted on our site.

    Dues: Our dues are $15 for yearly members. Summertime membership dues are $5. This money helps cover the costs associated with using meetup.com and also helps offset event and supply costs. Dues can be given to an organizer at an event or sent via mail to the organizer. Dues are non-refundable.
    New members have 30 days after joining to pay their dues. If the dues are not paid, the member will be removed.

    Additional guidelines may be added at any time.

    Disclaimer: By applying for membership to this group, you are agreeing to bear the sole responsibility for your child/ren's safety and comfort at all events. Regardless of the presence of other mothers at events, it is imperative that YOU watch your own child/ren. In addition, event postings are not venue endorsements. You are the only one who knows your child/ren's abilities and/or limitations. It is your duty to take these things into consideration before attending an event. Once you have decided to attend an event, you assume full responsibility for any and all associated risks, foreseeable or not.
