About Urban Baby Denver

Becky and I met at a breastfeeding support group when our babies were just a few weeks old. We instantly bonded over the fact that we were both "career girls" who were about to give it all up to stay home - we were having WAY too much fun at home. We quickly realized (through our breastfeeding support group, yoga classes, etc) that there is a growing population of cool urbanites trying to raise their kids downtown Denver. And why not? Denver is a great city - fun, outgoing and kid friendly. We wanted to create a group to support fellow urbanites and take advantage of all that Denver has to offer. Who & When....
If you are a cool downtown chick who has recently had a baby and want to meet other cool downtown chicks who have babies...this is your group. We will be planning many Mom events during the weekdays, but because cool downtown chicks often have cool downtown guys, we'll be planning many weekend events for the whole fam. We're all for a "girls (or guys) night out" once in a while, but our spouses are our best friends and also very fun, so when the weekend comes, we like to party together.

What kind of events can you expect from this meetup?
Here's a quick sampling (additional suggestions are welcome!):

• City Park Jazz on Sunday evenings in City Park
  
• Denver Movies in the Park
  
• Broadway Boutique Crawl (or Lodo crawl or Colfax crawl - yes, you read correctly - Colfax is cool)
  
• Cupcakes-n-Books - let's meet to trade tips from our favorite parenting books and have a few cupcakes at one of Denver's many cupcake shops
  
• UB Olympics - coming to a park near you. Think of teams competing for the UB (Urban Babes) crown in kickball, croquet, and followed by a tie-breaking round of twister.
  
• Family Harmony music classes for babies
  
• Mommy & Me Yoga
  
• Casual meetups at Congress Park Pool, Zoo, kids room at the Denver Art museum
  
• Walk or Jog groups - let's pick a race and get in shape together
  
• Rockies games
  
• Cooking club - let's grab the latest issue of Bon Appetit and divvy up their cooking club recipes, then all meet on a Sat night to whip up some amazing food and drinks.
  
• Happy Hour - let's rotate venues - sometimes out on the town at a kid-friendly bar, sometimes in one of our homes!

Membership is $10/year to help cover the cost of the website and drinks, etc at our new membership meetings. You can pay via Paypal.
