About North Austin Moms Meetup Group

Find other mommies like you! Let's get together for playdates, parkdates, lunch, or just get out of the house!

Meeting new friends is such fun and it's great to build relationships with our children!

We are based out of Pflugerville and host all types of events for our kids, moms and even dads in the Pflugerville/North Austin/Round Rock area! We get together with our children during the weekdays to play at the park, have lunch, home playdates, trips to the Children's Museum, zoos and more! We also have a great time getting out on our own for Mom's Night Outs and our monthly game nights! Dads can join in the fun too, we have couples events and even Daddy Nights Out!

Our daytime activities are geared towards moms and their children from newborn to 5 yrs of age. Older siblings (school aged) are always welcome, but events are not specifically planned for their age group.

***New members get free one-month trial period to make sure the group is right for you. After the free month, members must pay the membership fee and attend at least one event. This is to ensure the safety and confidentiality of our members.***

Guidelines for membership:

* Please fill out ALL the questions in the North Austin Moms Meetup profile and post a picture to your profile. Any requests for membership that are not accompanied by a completed profile and picture will be waitlisted until they are complete.

* All new members have 30 days to attend an event. This is designed to keep our members safe. We don't want to have "lurkers" in the background getting access to our members and their children.

* If you slip into an inactive member status (not visiting the site in over 30 days, not attending a meetup in over 30 days or not hosting a meetup in over six months), you will receive a friendly e-mail reminder that your account is currently inactive. After 30 days of inactivity, you will be removed from the group. Of course, there are always exceptions to every rule, but if you know you will be inactive for a while, or you receive our reminder e-mail, please respond and let us know when you will be back, actively participating with the group.

* If you feel you will not be able to be active for a period of time please let the organizer know that you still are interested in the group so you won't be removed. We understand life gets hectic sometimes!

RSVPs:

Please only RSVP "yes" for events you are sure you can attend. A "yes" RSVP should be treated like any other commitment you would make. It is very disappointing to attend an event that had 15 "yes" RSVP's only to see a couple of people show up. So as a courtesy to the rest of the group and the event hostess, please change your RSVP with as much notice as possible. If the RSVP cannot be changed within 24 hours of the event, then please contact the host directly to communicate your change in plans. If a member consistently fails to attend events to which she has RSVP'd "yes", she may be asked to leave the group.

Sick Policy:

As a courtesy to the rest of the members at an event, please do not attend if you or your child have any of the following:

* is acting sick
* has yellow or green nasal secretions
* has diarrhea
* has vomited within 48 hours
* has a fever or has had one within the past 24 hours
* has eye drainage or bloodshot eyes
* has a sore throat
* has a spot-like rash following low-grade fever and tiredness (might be chicken pox)
* has been on antibiotics less than 48 hours

If this sick policy prevents you from attending an event, please remember to update your RSVP. Again, a consistent failure to honor this policy may result in membership cancellation.

Message Board Etiquette:

We have a kind, open, fun group of mommies, but when you post on the message board, please adhere to the following guidelines:

* When you post, use TACT!
* Be respectful of everyone's opinions, you do not have to agree with them.
* When you post keep in mind not everyone will agree with you and your feelings should not be hurt.
* When there is nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.
* If you have an issue with someone, then call that person and work through the issue verbally. Email and messages can be misinterpreted and often make matters worse. The group does not need to be thrown into your disagreement. It creates tension and will not be tolerated.
* Do not imply things about other members on the board.

Can I advertise on the message boards?

If you would like to invite members to a party (i.e. Creative Memories, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, etc.) please use the message boards to share your information. Members can contact you to let you know if they're interested in attending. You can send them invitations or evites on your own. We will not have these types of gatherings as Meetup events.

This group is not intended as a forum for home-based businesses. Please do not use the group only for this purpose. We are here to have fun and form friendships for ourselves and our children. We do not want to feel pressured to buy things from another member.
