Our group is for Mom's and kids living within the Smithtown or Commack School Districts, we also welcome moms in the surrounding areas. We are a small, local group, which enables us to meet and have playdates locally in the towns we live. It's a great way to meet Mom's in the area as well. We have recently expanded our group to surrounding towns and Long Island North Shore.

A playgroup for bilingual parents to bring their children to have fun, hear and speak Spanish and meet new people. The ages in our group range from newborn to 10 years old. My 22 month old was recently diagnosed with PDD NOS, which is on the Autism Spectrum. Its been a whirlwind of emotion, information, scheduling and finally starting ABA therapy. I would like to find parents that are going through the same. I think shared experiences are helpful. I would also LOVE to have a playgroup for my child to participate in with other children and parents that can understand our world. We are looking forward to exploring this new world with other parents and their children.

We are a new meetup/cooking group for those who enjoy cooking classes, eating and socializing. A friendly interesting group of Long Islanders and GLBT from the area are welcome to join us for a monthly shared event of cooking and eating in our own member's kitchens. This group is for loving parents that adopted children at a young age, are now teens and for teens facing not only the usual adolescent issues but also issues of their adoption. Let's let our kids know that "they are not alone" in their struggle to find out who they are, and who they're meant to be. We can meet in our homes, plan some group counseling events and also some fun events. Let's let them know that others share the same thoughts and feelings as they do.

JWOW is a grassroots independent enterprise to bring Jewish families in Suffolk County together in a vibrant Jewish community.  It is a way for parents and children to meet other Jewish families across denominations and affiliations.  Events and programs will be run by volunteers and will grow organically from the interests and needs of our community.  Our promise to you is that the programs will be innovative, of the highest quality, and always rooted in friendship.

Our aim is to have 50+ lesbians feel comfortable getting together in a casual, safe, fun environment. We hope to plan events that will encourage participation, with both singles and couples welcome.  We will have events all over Long Island, especially in Suffolk County, where the need is greatest.    Suggestions from our members for upcoming events are welcome, and we look forward to sharing your thoughts and ideas.  We're looking forward to meeting you and making new friends!
